I have been engaged in professional photography since 1984. I began my career in fashion photography, but during an early documentary assignment I discovered my true passion. That experience led me toward archaeology and heritage documentary photography, a field I have been dedicated to ever since.
Between 1989 and 1993, I traveled to China’s Xinjiang Province four times along the historic Silk Road, documenting the region’s rich culture, heritage, and archaeological sites for various international agencies.
In September 2000, I served as the Official Photographer for IDEAS 2000, Pakistan’s first International Defence Exhibition and Seminar, documenting the country’s landmark international arms exhibition.
In 2008, I conducted a documentary photography project on Julian Monastery, one of the oldest Buddhist monastic sites in Taxila, for the Japanese Buddhist Society, capturing the historical and spiritual significance of this ancient heritage site.
Beyond fieldwork, I have also been deeply involved in photography education and curriculum development. In 2004, I designed and developed Pakistan’s first one-year Diploma in Photography for the Virtual University (Lahore), sponsored by Kodak Pakistan. I also designed, developed, and taught a one-year Diploma in Photography at Alliance Française de Karachi, introducing structured professional photography education in Pakistan.
In addition to photography programs, I have extensive experience developing academic and professional courses in areas such as sales, marketing, brand management, and media sciences. My work in media education includes courses in Photography, Photojournalism, Electronic Media, Television Production, and Film Production.
